Team Updates
  • FIRST 3512 Spartatroniks

That's right, we just finished the last week of our 2019 build season! After another week of intense work and long hours, our robot, Andromeda, has finally been bagged up! Although we cannot work on Andromeda until competitions, we will continue to work on protobot Aithir. As our robot side continues to work on and improve the robot, our business side will be preparing for our Chairman's Award presentation, as well as fundraising and budgeting. Chairman's is considered FIRST's most prestigious award, and it is awarded to the team that "best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the mission of FIRST." If you would like to see this year's video for Chairman's, please click on the following link: We would like to thank you for the support you've given us throughout our 2019 season. We could not have done it without help from people like you.

We just finished the second to last week of build season, and the whole team is heading into the sixth week at full speed! The build season ends on February 19, and we must have a robot ready to be bagged by that night. Stay tuned to see our robot in the robot reveal video on February 19. This past weekend, the team voted for a name for our robot: Andromeda. Andromeda is the name of a galaxy as well as a name from Greek mythology.  In the upcoming week, students will be working more hours than ever in order to complete the robot. We have a nearly complete proto bot, and we are already machining parts for the competition bot. We are so excited to be heading into our final week!

Our build season is more than halfway over now, and our team is hard at work. Our Outreach team is organizing the upcoming rally, keeping up with social media updates, and completing the Chairman's video. The Accounting team is working on the Chairman's presentation, as well as apparel and finances. The Software team is busy working on the programming for our robot. The CAD team has nearly completed a full CAD model of our robot. Our Electrical team is making great progress on the electrical board. Finally, the Mechanical team is working on our proto and competition bot. They have completed a base for our elevator and have added a rear lifting mechanism. We are excited to make more progress on the robot in the upcoming week!
